  • Why the hell would you think it would be reported in newspapers? Jail sentences are never reported in newspapers unless the person is famous.
  • It's probably not news worthy. Your local police department or court house can assist you in getting the details.
  • First off , somewhere in the papers it WAS reported as a matter of Public Record as required by law ... You have just missed it . Go on your computer to your states web site and find Prisons etc ... Do an offender search by his name ... His picture willl come up telling why he is in prison and what the charges were , as well as when he will be released ... +5
  • Why should you even care, and newspapers don't have the room to fill it all up with crap, if he was someone you knew then you can ask him or ask the police or something.
  • Court records of convictions, sentencing etc. are public record and are usually available unless sealed. Try calling your local courthouse to ask how to access the information if you aren't finding it in the news. If you are involved in the case you might also see if your local, county or state police department has a victims representative or advocate that you can go to for assistance. Call or visit the county courthouse or your local police department to get started.
  • check itout yourself - Colorado inmate 113858 was sentenced to 6 years to life in July of 2002. It happened in Douglas County. Nothing in area newspapers that I could find - and I had him on alert so I think I would have been notified if his name came up in a news story. I don't live near him and was not involved with the crime but he did live in NC near me for a while before he went to jail and I was trying to keep track of him. Not easy since he didn't come up as a registered pedophile on the NC lists. But I did find him - he is in jail and hopefully will stay there. (Still don't know how it missed being reported. I think money played a part - his family has plenty.
  • I got the answer - he was convicted of sex assault. Now there is another question. If he was caught in the act, then ordered to take a DNA test for the court, then pled guilty - - did he have to take the DNA test? Is there a way to make sure?
