If god were true --and belief in it necessary,-- wouldn't such 'knowledge' have come to us as naturally as taking the first breath, without agents, prophets, priests-popes or 'private' revelations?

Are you sure it isn't? Name a culture that did not try to find and contact some sort of god. It appears that there is indeed such 'knowledge' inborn in us. Some people simply reject it out of pain or disappointment.

The evidence is simple. If anything at all exists, it must have Someone who made it. If you see a building or a car you don't sit and think, wow what a coincidence that these things formed at random, AND they are actually useful. Romans 1:20 - For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. Some things about God are more complex, such as the prophesies of Jesus' birth predicted hundreds of years ahead of time. Jesus paid for our sins and rose from the dead. Proof enough.

According to the Bible we are all born with that knowledge, but it is society, and our own selfishness, greed and arrogance that blocks it out over time until that knowledge becomes completely forgotten and foreign to us. Preachers, teachers, prophets etc. have the job to keep us tuned to that knowledge so we don't forget.

God told adam and eve, and all he got was rebellion. people dont generally want to be servants to the king. they want to be kings themselves....what you say should be true today. Since God is, then why do we need special people to tell us God is. And if God is so real, then why doesnt he tell us His Name, instead of us using a symbolic word for a name we should know through the spirit relationship we are supposed to already have!!!!!!!!!!
