  • Joseph Smith's King James Bible included the Apocrypha, so he was familiar with some manuscripts rejected by the various counsels and synods. I am not aware if the Gospel of Thomas was among these extra books. D&C 91 states that the content of the Apocrypha is mostly correct, but with many interpolations by man. I don't know of anything from an official source which addresses the Gospel of Thomas specifically.
