  • If it takes THAT long to start up then you need to defrag your drive ASAP!
  • I had almost the same problem - it didn't take that long. Mostly it's caused by startup objects, mainly trojans - remove them all, and you'll notice the difference, I sure did. Here, I can recommend you 3 programs, that I like: Kaspersky Spybot Search & Destroy ParetoLogic Anti-Spyware
  • Sounds like you're using Microsoft Windows - its the only OS I know of that can take that long to start up after a period of 'normal usage'. Your best bet? Probably to make sure you don't have a faulty hard disk then restore your system to a previous "known good" state. If you don't have any system backups then you can always backup your data and restore from the original restore media.
