-
Yes, I enjoy reading poetry.

I have never really enjoyed most poetry. I do like Edgar Allen Poe and Robert Frost's poems and a few other poems, but I do not like most poetry. Usually I do not read poetry unless it is assigned for school. If I am reading something I choose, it is much more likely to be a fiction novel than poetry.

I don't read poetry as often as I listen to it. I just don't get the same feel of it from reading it as I get from actually hearing the poet recite it- there's emotion and sincerity in voices. That said, I DO read poetry, but I listen to it more often.

Not if I can help it.

Poetry is a constant in my life. And the stars shone, and the earth unstoppered its perfumes, the garden gate scrinched open, footsteps lisped along the path And they were hers, and she was mine. And my hand shook the more slowly I unwrapped and dwadlier I kissed her, and her aromas rose, and the hour fled, which is they way it is with hours. And I’ve unveiled myself of any hope, and death’s steps rasp along the path, and, like any star, I have nothing to burn but the life I love. William Matthews

not for the heck of it, but if I find a poem I like, I keep it. eg australian poet Dame Mary Gilmore's Nationality: I have grown past hate and bitterness, I see the world as one; But though I can no longer hate, My son is still my son. All men at God's round table sit, and all men must be fed; But this loaf in my hand, This loaf is my son's bread. ========== short and simple, but deep
