I've got one painted a pumpkin gold that I'm not really happy with. I thought it was going to be cheerful, but it is getting overbearing. I think I'm going to repaint it cream white with a slate blue/gray color on the bottom third.

I think it's more like, what color combination should you never use :P to me there is no such thing as a bad color, just a bad way of putting them together. I don't think it is wise, though, to have a lot of white carpet/furniture in high traffic rooms.
