Nope. Not at all.
-
no, absolutely not, my parents didn't hide the fact we were poor from me, and it has made me more thrifty and money friendly, as for other people being homeless and such, no, there is no reason to hide this from kids
-
No you shouldn't. When they get old enough to think for themselves they will know you were hiding the truth from them and they won't trust what you say. rebelious teenagers.

as a parent who is more or less on that level and of which im currently being taken to court for ,,, parents should tell their kids like i do the truth of what is going on in all areas of their lives.
-
Can you explain to me how you can conceal poverty? I mean, the people living in the slums in India or Africa, how exactly do you think they conceal that from their children?
-
Depends. If their aunt is also their Mother, I would probably not want to let them in on that little piece of information.

Parents shouldn't go into great detail about their financial status, but kids need to know when times are tough. I don't think they should have the weight of the world on their shoulders, but they do need to know that everyone in the house will have to cut back on how they spend money until times are better. In general, kids need to be given a realistic view of the world, without it being too "heavy". It's hard enough growing up without giving kids worries they don't need to have though.
