I have no idea. You'd think it wouldn't be a newsworthy issue... NEWSFLASH!! We interrupt this program to bring you an important message. We've just received word that president Obama is eating beef for dinner. There are also claims that he is washing it down with a refreshing glass of water. ???? Is this kind of thing really an issue? The media and politicians in the US should relax more. Take a leaf out of our book. Here in Australia, we once had a leader who held the world record for the fastest drinker of a yard glass of beer. *thumbs up*

There are a couple reasons for this. The first being that the American media has an intense obsession with Obama. Second is that the White House made the entire incident in the a worldwide news event by expressing an uninformed opinion about a matter that they had no knowledge about(mainly Obama). Third, it made for a great photo opt that showed Obama bringing the races together, when it was really just damage control. Now it's back to socializing America.

Excellent question. Invisible +5. I don't know why the Gates arrest case became such a media frenzy. It's really nothing more than a local arrest for disorderly conduct. The racial undertones and the reactions of everyone to the news seems to have made it the big story of the week.

I remember having an episode of Battlestar Galactica interupted by a multiple station proclamation to tell us all about a colon polyp removed from President Reagan. Since when did the Media ever have a sense of Perspective? Got O.J.?

Obama is a BIG change for America. A Black president and he is now the ceter stage for the whole world. Everything he does will be notified.

In past presidencies they served mixed drinks and expensive wines. The money has all been spent so now they're serving beer. It's fiscally responsible and refreshing, what's the problem. That's the news "American President acting Responsibly". That hasn't happened since Truman. It should be news.
