Why is it ok to write on a one dollar bill but not on a any other? I have never seen writing (graffiti type) on a fifty or even a five for that matter. Have you?

You're reading When did the symbol for the American dollar ($) lose its 2nd bar? The symbol was always TWO vertical bars thru an "S". Now its only ONE bar or sometimes just a "bump" on the top and bottom of the "S".
