Hit up a good seafood joint, head to the French Quarter, and possibly hit up one of the night clubs if I felt like it.

Ask the locals where to get the best jambalaya, scarf that down(yum!) and then hit the bars in the French Quarter. I know thats touristy, but hey, I'm a tourist! I would definitly take a spin around a stripper pole if it was amateur night. On my way back to my hotel I would pause to listen to a great street musician, and give him/her a few bucks.

I grew up 30 minutes from there... I cant tell you specifically what I'd do but I know my night would consist of great live music and lots of alcohol (hand grenades)... Harrah's (the casino) is cool, and if you've never been Bourbon St. it can be fun. I usually head to uptown for some awesome local dive bar type spots. There is a good time for everyone in New Orleans... just beware of the police... they dont play over there.
