There is a book called 'A Dog Called Adolf' by Trude Levy, a survivor of the German concentration camps. This title reflects a visit she made to Germany after the war, and was the name of a dog owned by the person who ran the boarding house where she stayed.

If he was a German Shepard I could see somebody doing it. I wouldn't but that's just me.
