Stealing is still bad no matter who its from. I understand the logic but trying to right a wrong with another wrong will get you nowhere.

G'day Junk Yard Dog, Thank you for your question. Yes it is. After all you would then be benefitting from his ill-gotten gains. Also, he might decide to return the favour with some of his muscle and you can end up in hospital. The best action would be to report him to police. Regards

Ditto. Not that the drug dealer has any good karma coming to him, but stealing just puts you on his level. A drug dealer should be turned into the police.

Morally I get your point but think of it this way, if something goes wrong and you get hurt in the process then you won't be around to protect those children anymore. Call the pros and let them take care of it.

Report to the police. Robbing them is not stop them from just getting more drugs to sell, does it? You would be enriching yourself, and the problem still remains. Nothing right about that.

maybe so...but who cares? What's he gonna do? Call the cops? (But it is also a good way to get yourself shot). My answer will probably be very unpopular, but it's the way I feel. A drug dealer does not care who's life he ruins.

I wouldn't feel bad about it, but that doesn't necessarily deem it RIGHT. I also think that it depends on what you did with the money. It's wrong if you're going to profit from it, becuz then you too are profiting from dealing drugs to kids.

Well, essentially stealing is wrong, but I don't care what happens to people who harm kids, so go for it... oh and while you are already breaking the law, eliminate 'em. I'll even provide you with an alibi! **I'd tell you to take it to the cops, but they have their hands tied.

everyo ne that says that its wrong to steal and 2 wrong dont make it right but at the same time they just need someone to take that dirty money off their hands which is wrong but they need to be put behind bars trying to sell to younger children they need to be telling them not to do it and dont make the mistake they did!

Legally it's wrong, but it would probably go unreported. The bad thing is street justice is several times more severe.

Yes, and here's why: This is a matter of policy. In these situations, always ask yourself, "What if everyone acted that way?" This is a simple question and for rhetorical reasons we blindly accept that this guy really is a drug dealer and that he really does sell drugs to kids. In the real world it is not up to individuals to determine that. That is for a court of law and a jury of peers to decide. In this contrived case it seems like it would be ok to rob the drug dealer, but what sort of precedent would that set? Pretty soon many people would be thinking it is acceptable to dole out vigilante justice on anyone whom they were SURE was guilty. If you've spent much time on Answerbag, then you know what it means for people to be SURE of something.

Take em to the cops and the proceeds will be confiscated , although will probably go to supplement the legal system. If you can get away with non-violently taking their money and giving it anonymously to a childrens charity then I guess thats okay.

I don't think it would be wrong exactly but it would be so dangerous & put you & your families lives in danger. Even if the police arrested them, drug dealers usually have 'contacts' out on the streets that would take care of their bizness while they are away. They would probably turn it around on you like they were the victims & you would get into more trouble then they would. I would recommend you buy a camera & a camera phone & start taping them & annoimously(sorry for the spelling error) send it to the feds or fbi. Someone that can take care of the problem with out someone bringing your name into it because someone else at your local police station knows the drug dealer & would tip them off it was you. Personally I think it wouldn't be wrong to do that but I care more for your life being concerned for the children then I do that of a drug dealer thats to sorry to work & make an honest living. Please be careful & good luck I'm sure you will do the right thing if you haven't already.

Two wrongs do not make a right. Why would you rob the drug dealer? you want his money or his drugs? robbing the drug dealer is not the way to solve this situation. Notify the police and let them set surveillace on the location. Lets makes sure the dealer gets busted, not..... Robbed or worse.

It's not wrong when you rob a bad man such as a drug dealer when you do it for survival. A drug dealer can't continue to peddle to kids if he has no money or stash. I suggest shooting him in the head with a bag placed over the gun and your hand so the spent shell casings are caught for later discret disposal away from the crime scene. For somebody with law enforcement and combat experience it would'nt be very difficult to achieve the deadly results without getting caught. This is probably why I keep reading about corrupt police officers in my city (baltimore) riping and running (robbing and killing) from drug dealers. Morally it's not wrong when the lines between right and wrong are already so clearly blurred. I say go ahead kill a drug dealer. If all the drug the dealers and users are dead then we can start funding schools and rejuvenating the ecconomy again instead of wasting my tax money on an already lost war on drugs.
