Some of the Johnny Winter bands were great, especially the ones that he formed with his bro, and also with Rick Derringer. I couldn't find any really good examples (Good Morning Little School Girl, Highway 61 Revisited, etc.) on YouTube, but perhaps the following will give you an idea of the energy and talent that drove their music:
