  • Keep him outside until he can't hold it. Once he goes, praise him. He'll get the picture pretty quickly.
  • Very easy, this works well. When it's time for the puppy to do his biz. Take him/her outside and lead them to the grass away from the concrete. Wait a few minutes....it won’t take long. Dog will sniff around; find the right spot and go. And as mrJosh said "Praise him" and the dog will understand. I've used this on all of my dogs that came into our "pack" as a puppy. Don't forget all dogs, (Puppies are the quickest) will need to relieve them self’s after eating. This also makes for a quick potty, they go out and "get err done" and ready to come in. Mission accomplished. Good luck!
  • Are you TAKING HIM OUT...going with him? Telling him to go potty and then praising and treating him for doing it? OR Are you just putting him out alone? A puppy has NO CLUE that you prefer he go potty in a specific place! A puppy doesn't know that there are RULES about going potty at all...they need to go, they cop a squat and do it. You need to HOUSE TRAIN YOUR PUPPY! Shoot me an email, my addy is on my profile, put ANSWERBAG POTTY 101 in the title line and I'll send you a free copy of Potty 101, the fun, easy way to house train your pup or dog! Also, until he IS house trained and asks to be taken outside...STOP allowing him free access in the house. Use baby gates, use a crate when you can't watch him...use a TETHER and attach him to you so that you can read a book, be on the computer or cook dinner and still have a chance of knowing where he is and what he is DOING..so if he moves around you feel the tug, look up and can then get him outside if he needs to go! Set your dog up to be successful at doing what you want him to do...and you'll be half way there!
