this brings up an old memory for me. My Uncle is a retired cop from the city of Davenport, Iowa. Many yeasr ago, we all took a family vacation to Universal Studios in California. We saw a live action Star Trek show there where they used one of those "beam me up Scotty" things. (Sorry, I am not a Star Trek fan, so I dont know what they are called) I can remember him saying he wished he had one of those so that he could teleport the criminals straight to jail, cuz he really got sick of the ones who would kick and spit all over his cruiser.

Phasers (star trek) one zap and it's nighty night, steel reinforced hide out door? zap no more door, "hey, you with the camera watching us beat the &#$%* out of some innocent minority" zap camera and witness disappears without a trace. yes the star trek phaser would solve most of the problems faced by the police.

A giant "magnet" gadget of some sort that can be deployed from your police vehicle, to magnetize and pull over obnoxious speeders without having to chase them down. The magnet ejects from the front of the police car and, like a big fish hook, slows down bad guys on the run and reels them them in. "Got ya moron!" Snark, snark. +++++++

how about all cars be equiped with a digital kill switch that can only be remote accessed by police and goverment agencies. and if it is being removed from the car it will send a signal that its being tampered with. no more car chases.
