about 20 feet. I wasn't digging for china, I was digging for oil. my parents didn't mind, it kept me busy and out of trouble. They were surprised as my persistance though. Water stopped me from going further, I just couldn't stop the seepage.

Metaphorically depression. Literally, I was in a sand box and I dug as deep as I could I hit "rock" and decided the earth was a solid rock and maybe on the other side was where my imagination was to reside. I like to pretend it is there to this day.
