Are you pressured into participating in activities outside of your work that you aren't paid for? Is it frowned upon or do you fear suffering some type of repercussion if you do not participate or express that you really don't want to?

I have been in a situation like this before, I was volunteerd to to organize an event for work, and ridiculed for not participating in it.

I'm salary, so in a way its expected. But if I really feel I don't need to be there, I don't go.

No, I've never felt pressured to do that, I feel I should spend my own time doing my own things. After work hours is none of anyone's business. I tend not to get involved, and if anyone at work has a problem with that, too bad. :)

I have no problem saying no to those type things. Most people that know me, know that I don't care about repercussion from such things frowned upon or not. +
