I always wonder that myself. Elliott Smith killed himself 3 years ago, I think that warrants at least an honorable mention in that laundry list. A friend of mine always joked that Badly Drawn Boy would likely get hit by a garbage truck next but it still hasn't happened. Maybe Justin Timberlake will drop dead?

I would guess Pete Doherty. On the Dead Pop Stars album by Mickey Apples (ex Unlucky Fried Kitten) there's a song for different dead pop stars...ie...Elvis, Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain, Marc Bolan, Syd Barrett etc. Intriguingly enough there's also a song for Richie Edwards of the Manics. Does that mean he's really dead, then?
