  • For one gecko you should have between a 10-15 gallon tank, which should run about twenty to thirty dollars. Tank $25 Lamp 12 Bulb 5 Carpet 10 Dishes 10 Decor 10 UTH 20 Supple.20 Altogether I would say about 100 dollars. I highly recommend the tank carpet liners, I use them for all my lizards. Calcisand and other sands can be very dangerous, and cause impaction in lizards (when they accidenatlly eat the sand with their food). Your gecko will need a light for night time, as they are nocturnal, and any blacklight or bulb will do as regular bulbs put out enough heat for geckos. It will enable you to watch your gecko at night and the Under Tank Heater (UTH) will keep him warm during the day when he sleeps. Geckos will need a hide, somewhere to go into and sleep during the day and for shedding. You can handle your gecko as long as you like. When you go to pick one out, (I highly recommend breeders over pet stores unless it is a family owned pet store with lots of human interaction) make sure you handle them and see which ones like to be handled. Most geckos are very docile, and social. The more you handle them at home, the more social they will become. Good luck!
