Was he the guy who often works with Kyle Maclachlan? I saw Dune, thought it was quite good, but not a huge fan. Haven't seen anything else. I'm told lots of his films are considered "arty", but without seeing more I can't comment truthfully on it.

God yes - almost too familiar. Mr Lynch accompanied a great many insomniac nights when I was at university. I do love "Mulholland Drive" though. I'm siting him as an influence on the writing I'm doing at the moment, something to do with abandoning linear narratives and traditional conceptions of the real. God I'm pretentious.
