At various times, and by various surveys - London, Manchester, Leeds and Newcastle have all claimed the title of 'the best nightlife in the UK'. Since there is far more in the way of places to go as a young adult in London - I go for London =)

I live in Manchester, which has the biggest student population in Europe so has a really vibrant scene for young adults. However, tons of the people I know rate Leeds higher. Depends on what you want. A lot of the young adult nightlife in Manchester is incredibly cheap and cheerful student-y.
