Not exactly. You do earn that 5 points for each question and answer you moderate if your flag is accepted by admin. When you start to lose the 10 points is if they begin to see a pattern of moderating carelessly (ie: being way off the mark with your flags a lot or flags that look retaliatory in nature.) There are times when admin won't accept the flag and you won't get the 5 points but you won't get 10 deducted either if they feel that you're moderating responsibly.

You don't lose 10 unless you over flag an individual vindictively, or you flag too many wrong flags. You may wish to check this out, too: http://www.orangefrogproductions.com/ofp2m_faq_ab_moderationguide.shtml Also, see (more recent and by the moderators) from http://www.answerbag.com/guideline/ (sorry... No links at this time): Why should I flag questions and answers? How do I flag questions and answers? What is considered spam? What is considered offensive? What is considered a duplicate? What is considered nonsense? When is a question considered to be in the wrong category?

Don't bother flagging SPAM, either. Most of the time, the staff will nuke the spammer's account without giving you points and it will destroy your moderation percentage, as it's done mine. -.- I hate that damn glitch. -.-

What blows my mind is people who have hundreds and hundres of mod points. How did they ever manage to achieve that, I wonder.
