Epilepsy meds giving kooky thinking? Sometimes it feels like I'm going nuts, thoughts in my head, I don't know where they're coming from. On Dilantin/Phenytoin 500mg/day.
Anyone else get this? Is it common?
I think it also reducing sex drive drastically

If you are new to the medication, and/or are changing levels then side effects vary by patient. I would strongly urge you to discuss this with your treating physician (most likely a neurologist). Phenytoin can bring to the surface preexisting mental/emotional disorders. If you have seizures then you most likely have underlying existing conditions along these lines. Phenytoin is often the first drug offered to deal with seizures, however there is a wide variety of seizure control medications out there, often an epileptic patient will be on two anti seizure medications.
