It takes money to get money, and those who already have it, find it somewhat easier to acquire MORE, than those who have none of it, with which to begin. I hope that makes some semblance of sense. I knew this dude who said, "I went to church and prayed for a lot of money. Pretty soon, I saw a plate of it being passed right to me, and I helped myself (as did some others in my family)." +5

Because churches are designed to keep folks in line. And they demand money from poor folks. Of which they're all to eager to purchase their way into a nonexistent after life. The church also teaches them that God prefers them to be poor, and they're duty bound to obey God and their divinely appointed Leaders (who just happen to be rich). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Divine_right_of_kings In every country and in every age, the priest has been hostile to liberty. He is always in alliance with the despot, abetting his abuses in return for protection to his own (Letter to H. Spafford, 1814). Thomas Jefferson http://candst.tripod.com/tnppage/qjeffson.htm
