Yup. You'll need to determine the audio chipset your computer uses, and download the driver directly from the manufacturer's website. (PC detective is an "install me and i'll find the drivers FOR you") program. You'll find this information on your computer's manual (or the manual for your motherboard if purchased seperately). Realtek's AC'97, and Nvidia's Nforce are probably the two most common audio chipsets/codec varieties, and their drivers can be downloded from realtek.com (as a smart-installer package for virtually every ac97 chipset), and nvidia.com respectively. Do verify first though before assuming that either of these are your chipset If you are having trouble finding the drivers, or having trouble determining what your audio chipset is, simply post your motherboard or computer model as a "comment" to this question, and i'll find you a link.
