  • Basically you can "lease" one of your horses to a horse-crazy but responsible teen or adult. In leasing, the person gets to ride and care for the horse for a set amount of time each week in exchange for money or in this case, shoveling. Have the person make a compost pile.
  • Horse manure makes excellent fertilizer. Put up a sign offering free horse manure - you find it, you keep it.
  • Do some research, there are many ways to use waste for energy. I bet that waste can run so much of your electrical needs. Or for fertilizer. I'm sure there are many things you can do with it, you just have to take them time and find out.
  • For only 5 horses 8 acres is plenty enough to let nature clean up the horses business on its own.
