I don't know Michigan law, but I can tell you that it's more complicated than just they're entitled to it or not entitled to it. For instance, in Texas, you have to have been married at least 13 years before you are entitled to part of your spouse's pension. There are other things they take into consideration as well. You'll really need to talk with an attorney in Michigan to get an accurate answer.

From what I have been told an ex-spouse can collect a percentage of your Social Security if you were married to them for ten or more years.

In my state an ex spouse who was married 10 or more years to the other spouse is entitled to a percentage of the pension and social security.
