It isn't, according to the rules of etiquette. Everyone is supposed to politely pretend that nothing happened, since flatulence is assumed to not be under one's control. This is different from a burp, which requires an "excuse me." Anyone saying or doing anything to call attention to the flatulence, including the "culprit," is being extremely rude and ignorant. There is nothing said in etiquette regarding those who can somehow call up flatulence on demand, as they are beneath contempt.

I don't know~but do you know why farts stink? because this way deaf people can enjoy them too! Most people don't mind blowing smoke in your face I know there is a spray can of *instant farts* I wish I had that to counteract the smokers But my wife gets very sick if someone farts close to her she yells out in Public~~*Hey that guy farted*!! how come its never a women who breaks wind?
