What conditions do fungi need to survive? (Thinking about temperature, light or dark, wet or dry) Please give me simple answers - not shed loads of unneccessary info. Thankyou! :)

Obviously, there's variation among species, but in general: dark and damp I'm less sure about the temp. I'd say warm, but I know fungus grows when it's cold, too. To be honest, I can't say for sure on temperature.

I've never farmed fungi but maybe I can help. You see, for many years while I was in the military, when it came to the dissemination of information, I was actually treated as if I was a mushroom. I was kept in the dark and fed manure (it was bullshit, to be precise.). Hope this helps.
