A dojo is a place where formal training of a physical nature takes place; it is taken from Japanese, where it means roughly "the place of the art". In the West it is thought of as being exclusively a place for martial arts training, however in Japan it usually encompasses a wider range of physical training.

In martial arts, it's a school, but is treated a bit like a temple, the students salute the dojo when they enter and exit and the Sensei"master" when he enters the room.

If you start a Korean art, please don't use Japanese words, especially if the master or instructor is Korean. In Korean it's do jang, and teacher is sa bum nim.
