I am sure it can. A boy, years ago on our gradeschool bus, vomited cheerios all over the pristine red-hair of the twin girls sitting in front of him. He hurled right over the top of the seat; they were not pleased. ;)

One morning I woke up so sick I couldn't hold anything down. I started to throw-up blood and it scared me half to death. I went to the emergency room and they shoved a tube down my throat to see what was wrong. It torned out to be gastritis, a generic term for :I have no idea what's wrong with you Lady" Everything finaly settled down and I got over it. I was pretty tramatized by it.

I haven't thrown up in years. It is a very unpleasant experience. I suppose if it happens often enough one could get traumatized by it but I never have. I think it's easier if you don't fight it. My mom used to have a terrible time with it and she might have been affected by it. :)
