Yes, he's used the knowledge that humans are gullible to his advantage, he knows they won't question anything, so he convinced all the gullible ones, from birth, that he is actually God, so when they die, they will willingly, and gladly, hand over their soul to him without question, and then when he has it, he'll tell them "I'm not God, I'm the Devil, and you fell for it, the real God doesn't bang on about his presence and expect to be worshipped, I can't believe you fell for that, thanks for your soul".

If by Satan you mean religion, and by knowledge you mean the bible, and by against you mean enslave. Then yes.
