  • You need a prescription. Nothing over the counter that I know of helps me. See a Dr.
  • It's not much of a help, but the best thing to help prevent migraines is to stay away from what triggers them for you. In order to do that, you have to first single out your trigger or triggers.
  • As they have said, see a doctor. All kinds of sensitivities to foods and wine and other things can trigger them. There are also new drugs to treat them, but you need to get them from a doctor. **Proper and very thorough assessment** and diagnosis of what you get and what the triggers or irritants are is essential if you want to have the best chance of not getting any or if you do stopping them quickly. See your doctor or a doctor.
  • thanks I've been getting them since I was 5
  • My best advice for short term help? Painkillers. If you're looking for a more long term solution you need to identify the cause. Keep a headache diary. This will help you to see what the triggers are. If there's a common factor in all the times you get a migraine, then avoid that particular thing. Alternatively you could see a neurologist and it may even be beneficial to see a chiropractor/naturopath. Hang in there! I know how much migraines suck, and how they can affect your life! Good luck :)
  • I have migrains and the Dr. wants to prescribe alot of crap that doesn't work.. i found the GOODY powders works the best for me. I take two when I feel one coming on.
  • I used to get those really bad and my doctor gave me Imitrex for migraines - worked beautifully. Make an appointment to see your doctor as soon as possible to make sure there is no underlying cause for your cluster headaches/migraines.
