What do you think America will have first, a female President or an Atheist President?
If an Atheist wouldn't stand a chance, can it really be called the land of the free?

It is MY opinion that you can't be truly free without Jesus in your heart SO to ME without Christ our land isn't free anyway.

My guess would be that a female President will come before an openly Atheist President. At this point in time, I believe that an Atheist (or a Muslim or a Wiccan for that matter) would not stand a chance as there are still too many people who judge others on their religious affiliation or lack thereof. I don't think this would affect it's status of "land of the free". The candidate in question is free to believe however they choose (or simply not believe at all) though it may result in them not quite reaching their goals. The voters are free to indulge their religious biases though it may cause them to miss out on a great leader. There are, however, other things that have made me question how "free" we are from time to time.

Female, because free is an illusion, even to the beasts of the forest and sea. We are slaves to our cultural norms and slaves to the status quo.

I think the fact that there are still states that have laws saying that atheists cannot hold public office would make it difficult for an atheist to become president. Based on that, I think a lady president will come before an atheist president.
