  • It's my understanding that COATs are anti-troll, not anti-DR. Perhaps that person was just being self-righteous.
  • I believe that even COAT's at times have a right to DR rude or inappropriate answers. Which is why they are expected to have 95% or above. COATS are not perfect and they still get upset about things and DR though they are held to a higher standard. There are several people on AB who have a problem with COAT members and think they just exist to uprate their own friends. They don't understand the purpose of COATS. We do.
  • Coats not only can but should down rate ridiculous answers. With the amount of idiots on AB a 98% is practically perfect.
  • COATs should be able to downrate. BTW - 98% is excellent.
  • Anyone can downrate. I never have because I think downrating is unnecessary and irrelevant. To each his/her own. Whatever floats your boat, rings your chimes and makes you feel good about yourself..If giving DR's does it for you, then that's what you do. Happy Saturday! :)
  • Yes, but only sparingly. I haven't downrated in forever. I have 100% + ratings given.
  • To a degree and when needed.
  • COATS have only a few ways of positively guiding the board. DRing is one of those tools, and most COATs rarely use that tool at all. In general, I would trust a COAT with just about anything they had to say, and if they said something to me, I'd damn well listen. Besides, they have guidelines in place specific to thier group. Anone with an approval rating lower than 95% can't even get into the group. You can't fight trolls if you're going to be one. +5
