Christians do tend to go a little overboard with the story. Firstly Parthogenisis (virgin birth) is so highly unlikely that it is ridiculous to think that such a specific figure in history would have been born of it. Secondly, the condition causes the child to be both male and female. The physical appearance is male, but the genetic code is all female, so if it were true, "son of God" wouldnt be a correct term. Finally, there has never been a reported case of a child who was born from a virgin to survive past its first years of life. Infact, in my proffesional opinion, it would be impossible for Jesus to live to 33 if he was parthogentic. What you must remember is that the Bible was written for a society that didnt understand much. It is over 2000 years old, how can you expect people 2000 years ago to understand the concepts we understand today. They had to explain it to the people of that time with stories and idea's that are now percieved as mythical, because at that time, thats all the people understood. The religion is outdated. Keeping in context would be nonsensicle.
