The problem was likely with the sensor and spoked disk which works with the sensor and found on the right front rotor. The Disk had broken away from the rotor and was rubbing against the sensor. Also, being dislodged the way it was, it was giving the sensor false readings, causing the ABS to go on and off unnecessarily.

Everywhere rotors are called brake discs, except North America, why is that, as they do not rotate?

You're reading Why does my 2005 Ford Rangers ABS braking system cut in unnecessarily? Sometimes under ideal driving conditions I touch the brake and the ABS activates (often creating a pull left, and making it harder to stop), sometimes it activates while I'm driving.
