I'm not surprised at all. If 'Sweet Lou' doesn't win at least the Wild Card Playoff series, he'll never manage again.

Lou is a hothead who deals with players with tough love. His methods wear on players and he has worn out his welcome in other places. The Cubs are going nowhere and someone has to take the fall.
