All this celeb early-death stuff is tragic. Elvis, Princess Di, John Lennon, Anna Nicole, and now perhaps Britney is contemplating suicide. I don't know much about Marilyn & didn't google, but I'd guess an excessive, stressed-out life, with some type of drug use.

There is no question about what caused her death, a massive overdose of barbituats and chloral hydrate. How those drugs got there is very much open to question. My unprofessional but somewhat well supported opinion is that Ralph Greenson, with his untrained assistant/spy-housekeeper Eunice Murray, attempted to sedate Monroe involuntarily-probably with a rectal enema of the drugs in solution-and inadvertently overdosed her. They may have tried to revive her with methods that did more harm than good. Ignoring 46 years of speculation and rumor and popular press and reading only the reports of the officer who arrived on scene after Greenson's phone call to the LAPD, supports this theory completely. It does not prove it but it DOES establish tampering with the death scene, by Greenson, Murray, and possibly her other physician Hyman Engelberg and press agent Pat Newcomb. That tampering makes perfect sense if that scenario were the case and little otherwise.
