Why is it that most of the people in america who are very very religous and homophobic are from alabama and texas? this is not meant in an offensive way - but it's just most people that act this way tend to be from there - why is this?

I don't understand why anyone would be homophobic. Being homosexual isn't contagious like having a flu or a virus. There are three kinds of people, straight, bi and homosexual. You have to live and work surrounded by all three and no one really wears a S, B or H on their person so there is no way of telling.

Perhaps the people in that area are more religious? Or perhaps the people there have had a history of intollerance. It isn't homophobic, they have an aversion to that lifestyle. I don't approve of that lifestyle, but I'm not homophobic, I do not fear homosexuals... I'm not from either of those states, nor from the South anywhere.

Perhaps people of like minds and opinions and value tend to congregate together in communities where they all tend to share the same values. A lot of people like to be with others similar in attitude to themselves and if they believe that their values/opinions/morals are right/correct/superior they seem to attract more like themselves.

well, thats just where those people settled in, Texas being the most homophobic, and what not. One reason Ill never mve to Texas.
