I do not believe he was a pedophile, and nor did the courts. A pretty mixed up guy, but I don't think it was sexual with him.

An ALLEGED pedophile. They never convicted him, and the two-million dollar out-of-court settlement doesn't prove anything.

Everybody likes to feel like they're a part of something, this time mourning the death of someone. Some just choose to make him into an icon, while others choose to be on the other side.

Partly because there are a lot of gullible people out there, The guy made payoffs to avoid prosecution and admitted on national TV that he enjoyed sleeping with young boys. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck it's a freaking duck! or a pedophile in this case. WAY too many allegations and where there's smoke there's generally a fire. I say partly though because I don't believe this is entirely about Michael Jackson. The media and the Obama administration are absolutely dancing with glee over this as it is a a fantastic distraction from some very serious problems, Obama just approved more billions of dollars in his escalation of the war in Afghanistan and Iraq, He has pissed off Iran as well as many people right here in the US and North Korea is threatening us with imminent nuclear war. Giving Michael Jackson headline news for the next week or two until his funeral and all the inevitable tributes in this michael Jackson media frenzy is a welcome distraction for the government and keeps people from focusing on some very real, very serious and very dangerous problems facing this country right now. His death couldn't have come at a better time and I'm sure someone somewhere is making sure they keep MJ on the front page as long as possible.

Sloppy thinking. He was never convicted, therefore you cannot call him a pedophile. It's important to keep this in mind in America...People are convicted in court not in the media.

It has to do with having brains too small to understand complexity. So you've got morons who focus exclusively on his musical talent because their tiny little minds can't contemplate the fact that there were (allegedly -- not proven, but alleged over and over and over again and often alleged and paid off) other aspects of his life that don't fit. By the same token, you've got morons who focus exclusively on the charges leveled against his (admittedly extremely wierd) personal life because their tiny little minds can't handle the fact that he was also an undeniably talented artist. Those of us who know that life is often a mixed bag don't have a problem grasping both arguments. But feel free to use whatever mental crutch you need.

There are no Gods just people, there are pedophiles and because this was not proved in court, it does not mean it didn't happen. He was a strange man, but could we just remember him as a good musician and leave it at that. Nothing more needs to be said.

Michael Jackson being a pedophile is your opinion. It makes you look incredibly ignorant and small minded when you proclaim your opinion as indisputable fact. You don't know that he was a pedophile. I don't know that he WASN'T a pedophile. No one knows that but him. I despise pedophilia as much as I do racism and cruelty to animals. And yet, I don't think Michael Jackson had any sexual interest with children. I think he was an incredibly sad, lonely, confused, unconventional person who made some very bad choices. The level of super stardom he achieved in life meant that every thing he did - whether it was humanitarian, bizarre or somewhere in between - became fodder for the media and the people of the world to dissect. He had no private life and for that I feel truly sorry for him. He clearly struggled with that during his life. Above all things, I think we need to respect the fact that someone has died who made an unfathomable contribution to music and the media. Countless best-selling artists, dancers and entertainers have been influenced by Michael Jackson, or would not enjoy the success they do if it was not for him. His talent as an artist was phenomenal. That's what I mourn.

Michael Jackson was never convicted, and was cleared of all those charges, therefore it's pure speculation to call him a paedophile. What can't be denied though is his immense musical talent and that is what people, quite justifiably, are mourning the loss of.

He was never convicted, so it's all rumor. The media speculated at the time that it was all because the parents wanted money, and the parents did walk away as soon as they got money so I'm inclined to think that he didn't do it. The parents could have easily gotten both. Have Michael Jackson arrested and convicted if he were guilty, and then sued him for all he was worth. They always stopped short of proving that he molested their children though. As a parent, I can tell you right now that nothing would stop a parent who's child had been abused.

I think most people think that because he wasn't convicted, he didn't do it. They've forgotten O.J. Simpson. Pedophiles are very good at avoiding being caught. Pedophilia isn't like falling in love with someone and just having to have sex with them. A pedophile doesn't choose a child because they are in love with them. A pedophile chooses a child because the child won't tell or because the child won't be believed if they tell. They commonly choose children with mental deficiencies or mental illness because they won't stand up to cross examination. A dying child who might not live long enough to testify with a crazy mom who would be believed by no one would be a perfect victim for any pedophile. He chose that child because he would never be convicted if the child talked. But guess what? He is in the court of the all-knowing, all-seeing God now. And God can't be buffaloed.

I really can't say if he was one or not. I'd like to think that, because he was a huge star, everything he did was reported and amplified, and just like Arnold Schwarzenegger is apparently a rapist and a Nazi, Jackson is a pedophile...but the media is just WEIRD this way, and this is the same type of media that focuses on every little thing Obama does-besides what he does, or doesn't do, for America. That said, people need something to talk about, and as another member here pointed out to me, I find it pretty hypocritical of a lot of people to suddenly praise him now that he's gone, when those same people suggested that he should be executed for being a pedophile during his living. Then they're all like-you gotta respect the dead! I think people just want to look good. How many people seriously cared about all this, how many can see this was a genuine matter for them beyond puking self righteous bullshit over dinner, pfeh. Can't say why but don't worry, I noticed it too after it was pointed out to me.
