  • Have you tried the state employment agency? If there is a program for hiring felons they would probably know about it. Another option is retraining. See about financial aid. If you are able to show that you did well in a trade school or junior college it might convince an employer to hire you. If you can't get hired immediately at least this would be a worthwhile way to spend your time. Where I am, in Georgia, printing shops tend to hire people with criminal records. I don't know why this is. Worth a try, though. Depending on your age, the military might be an option. Hey, at least you could learn the non-negligent way to use a firearm. You risk all the hazards of going to war, but stand to gain some training and references if you make it. By the way, it's spelled "negligent", in case you have to put it down on an application or something. Good luck, man.
