  • This is why I always try to keep my distance from the media and public. I much prefer to decide what I wish to think about and talk about than have my mind hijacked by others.
  • People like to complain. I would argue to say its human nature. And the "hip" thing to do right now is to hate the Media. Anyway, Michael was a big part of pop culture, and made an enormous impact on it since his childhood. Its only fitting that he is covered by the media in death as well.
  • I think we should be giving equal time to Ed McMahon and Farrah Fawcett.
  • Very true. Get off the TV and Computer people if you don't want to hear about him. Or just quit your bitching.
  • You know the things that bothers me about it, is the fact that Farrah Fawcett fought a courageous battle with cancer and left something to be remembered by with the way she faced it. Ed McMahon also was an icon for many years and his loss is greatly felt. Micheal Jackson was a pop star yes, but he also did some things that weren't to be looked up upon. Yet he is being idealized at this time, when I think more positive figures deserve more credit than he. Just my own opinion though.
  • The problem is that there is more important news stories that loose space on the TV.World events are more important that one celebrity, and why should people run for the closet and stop listening to the news, when it is wrong to concentrate the news on things that are not really that important in the scheme of things.
  • I agree with you - it hasn't even been 24 hours. Also - to the people cracking tasteless jokes about Michael Jackson on AB, can't you show some sensitivity to those ABers who are upset by his death?
  • Oh sure(!) Just isolate yourself from everyone(!) Nice solution(.) You realise that these people are telling people to shut up about MJ, but now your telling those people to shut up about shutting up? Doesn't that make you just as annoying as them?
