Help answer this question below.

My RCA TV makes a spark type pop and then the picture goes out for a few seconds and then comes back on. The sound does not go off. This happens every few minutes. Help

    Hmmm Have you checked the wiring and plug? Also what about the socket it is plugged into, is that working properly? I would check all that out, before calling a repair man. If it is old, not sure you want to put much money into it now. Good Luck

    arching inside the tube.
    this can be caused if the tube has been boosted
    the reason is that the carbon that is burnt off the guns is still in the tube and the high voltage blasts the carbon onto the guns tempory shorting out the guns.
    if you know what you are doing
    you can place the tv on it's face and tap the tube neck of the tub while the set is turned on.
    but you do need to know what you are doing and not tap it too hard(if it is this) the effect will be the same as you describe)and might knoct said particles down into the shadow mask and then to the bottom of the tube.
    and last is if you can get the tube boosted/cleaned with someone who has said device.
