Ok, I'm going to write a song based on Alanis Morissette's 'Ironic', but this time they actually will be examples of Irony (with your help). What are some good examples of Irony, please?

It's close, but it really needs a bit too much explanation as to where the irony exists; it is kind of ironic at one remove, not sure how you could work it into a song though!

The author posted something about it, I think it was along the lines of him feeling under pressure to please other people with his comics once they became popular rather than being able to draw them just as a fun hobby that he happened to share - he was feeling too beholden to his audience and as if the comic strips no longer belonged to him... something melodramatic like that anyway! I cancel out my glaucoma by never going anywhere worth seeing...

that's not ironic... getting a can of anti-sieze and you can't get the lid off because it's stuck.. that's ironic

That's just bad luck, not irony. It might be closer to irony if the reason you were dying in hospital was because you couldn't afford to pay for treatment, but even then I'm not sure it is quite there...
