How do i have the "talk" with my 12th yr old son? how should i bring it up? when should i bring it up? any advice on how to make it not so uncomfortable?

start off by asking him if he has a girlfriend or something like that. then you can go off from there

He probably already knows what sex is, kids are learning about that stuff a lot younger these days. I would start off asking him what he knows. Then from there you can elaborate on what he has to say and head him in the right direction. With the uncomfortable thing, you gotta set the tone. If you act like it's normal, casual conversation, it should make him a lot more comfortable.

make sure there's only the two of you exclusively talking. you can do it while doing some carpentry or gardening or washing the dogs so it wouldn't be too awkward he can fumble on something when he gets uneasy
