  • It's a book by a popular evangelist that supposedly outlines God's purpose for us. It basically is a sort of kick start for people who are already devout christians (specifically protestant). I'm not a fan, but I read it because it was a gift from my brother right before he died.
  • It kick started the pornographic self-help business.
  • Leah ~ I bought this during my early Christian days as it was a suggested read for new people to the faith. I was non~denominational then. To be honest it didn't inspire me at the time and despite being desperate to find out more about my new found faith and craving literature to read I still found it very difficult to stick to the daily regime. I did wonder if it was a cultural thing as it's a USA written book and I'm from the UK. I've absolutely no issue with that except I just wondered if maybe in my ignorance I just didn't get the cultural divide?? I've recently had another look at it [three years down the line and alot wiser] but still don't find it very compelling. I shall hang on to it though, a season for everything maybe?? The book is really a journey of typically 40 days which really helps you to look at yourself, encourages growth in your faith and defines God's purpose for your life with the guidance and wisdom of the author all backed up by scripture. Lots of people I know have really found it useful and have recommended it which is why I bought it initially. HTH's pax et bonum ~ CC x
