the spout is the result of the high pressure area created by the drive, under the hull. rather than absorb the pressure laterally into the body of water, the pressure is released into the path of least resistance when the hull moves forward. So it would be difficult to modify this without changing the propulsion discharge to a different pattern. you would probably loose a good amount of efficiency, not to mention steering capability. one other possibility is to have a deflector above the water to interfere with the spout, but it would have to extend so far aft that it would be impractical.

You can remove it by taking 2 screws out. It is a safety device for people to see you on the other side of a wave. Look at were your jet is on the back of your runner. you will see a spout that is not connected to anything else.
