Nope, I never do. Sense the toilet seat does not make a bacteria proof seal it doesn't matter anyway, even if I believed that harmful bacteria are released, which I don't.

I do it because my toilet flushes too hard and it splashes a little bit. A few drops are almost nothing, and it is clean water, but I don't want them leaving the toilet bowl!

i tend to have it down when i flush it - but not because of the bacteria - is because it tends to spray bits of water in my face and on the lid when it flushes which is rather gross - so i put it down :) :) then typically being a guy i put it back up again!

Oh I hate it when guys leave the toilet seat up! Being a female, yes, I do leave it down.

I put the lid down before I flush. I figure that if I expect the guys to put the seat down then I should put something down (other than the guys of course!), that way everybody gets yelled at in this house for leaving something up...keeps the dogs from drinking out of the toilet bowl too...not healthy for them, keeps the seat or rim (depending on who was there last) dry.

Yes, I read about that and I have been closing the lid for a long time now.
