I have a 1995 corvette. The last time it was driven was in 2006. Someone said it has a switch that triggers after it sits for so long and i have to take it to the dealer before it will crank again. Is this true? I havent tried anythng yet.

I think someone's pulling your leg. After that long if you did not disconnect the battery, it will be dead and you'll have to replace it before you can start it.

Other things can go wrong while a car sits unused, and gas can gunk up the engine and turn into a kind of turpentine. This is the same thing that happens to lawn mowers if you don't drain the fuel in the fall.

It would be best to have a repair place take a look at what needs to be done to start it up again.
